Driving Schools/Transferring your license

List of countries & states whose drivers licenses France allows to be transferred (within 1 year of receipt of Carte de Sejour). Not all US states. (Thank you Gayle Padgett for reminding me to check this again!)

Good luck with this annoying project. I think all the schools are about the same. We used ECF Conduite on bd de la Republique in centre ville Aix because it’s a big one with multiple locations. They also have cars for you to qualify on automatic transmission if that’s an issue. The pricing at the schools has changed some in the years since we did this. The main reason to engage a driving school is because they can get you an appointment to take the test itself which is much more difficult if you are doing it on your own. (Robert Wildau)
